I can relate to a situation where a business might contract and not expand because my dad used to have a Chinese medicine/acupuncture business that is now closed. It was a small business and unlike the Seeing Is Believing novelty store, where it made profits regardless, I do not think that my dad’s business made as much profits because of the downturn in economy and the many Chinese medicine/acupuncture stores that are in Vancouver. Since it was a small business, there was no need for a specialized department to do the accounting transactions, which were done by hand in the synoptic journal if I remember correctly.
